Clear Height
The height inside the warehouse should not be less than 2.7 meters, because the height inside a 40’HC shipping container is about 2.7 meters. If the goods inside the shipping container are placed on the pallets, the height of the goods will be close to 2.7 meters high.
As we can see, the highest internal height of the shipping container is 2.7m.
We know that usually when the goods are placed on top of pallets, the goods will be wrapped by the wrapping film, which is convenient for the forklift to load the goods into the shipping container or unload the goods from inside the container. In addition, the shipper will fill the container as full as possible, the purpose is to save shipping costs.
As we can see, the goods are placed on top of pallets, then all goods are wrapped by the stretch film.
Stretch film is used to wrap goods on pallets and secure them to each other and to the pallet. Helping to reduce product loss, discourage load tampering, and reduce worker injury.
Also, whether there are limiting obstructions in the warehouse, such as fans. If there are limiting obstructions, the height of the limiting obstructions to the ground in the warehouse should not be less than 2.7 meters.
Exterior Space
Usually, the shipping container will be transported to the warehouse by the trailer, then the outside area of the warehouse can accommodate at least one trailer.
Expansion Space
As the company grows, we also need to reserve space for potential future expansion of the warehouse. Therefore, some space will be reserved inside and outside the warehouse, depending on the situation.
Zoning Considerations
The warehouse floor should be painted with lines and marked with the category of products stored in each area. This way we can quickly find the goods when storing or removing them.
Fire/Sprinkler Systems
The warehouse must comply with local fire codes or requirements. Some fire extinguishers should be placed inside the warehouse in case of emergency.
Temperature Control
It is very important to keep the warehouse well ventilated, and we need to check the temperature and temperature of the warehouse frequently.
